Hey JLM Scoop community! We are truly living in historic times and we started thinking… how can we use this newsletter of ours to spark something meaningful and bring mashiach? So we’re trying something new…playing shadchan!

Jerusalem is full of amazing people, and some of them just happen to be single.
Every week, we’ll anonymously feature a local single- no names, no photos, just vibes. You’ll learn a bit about who they are, what they’re looking for, and why you should help us find them their person.
👉 Know a single who wants to be featured (again, anonymously)? Please have him/her fill out this form.
This only works if the whole community gets involved. So let’s have fun, help each other out, and maybe—just maybe—get a few people married along the way.
Love is in the air (and in your inbox),
The JLM Scoop Team
…..and now for our first single!
He’s 34 years old, and 1.88m / 6'3" tall.
Love the Rebbe? He’s Chabad! Davens 3x/day and learns, and you just know he’s got a fire, no trim beard.
A multitasking king - his day job is in sales, but he really fills his time by listening to shiurim.
He’s passionate about fitness, and his ideal date includes a hike in JLM nature.
He’s new to Israel (Mazal tov! Made Aliyah 2 months ago) but ready to settle down and start his family in our holy country.
He’s looking for a warm, well-balanced girl. Bonus points if she speaks more than just English!

💡Expert Tip #9: 😲 Wait... What’s That Room?

Let’s talk about a feature that’s suddenly very popular again: The Miklat Mystery 🕵️♂️
If you're exploring older buildings in Jerusalem, don’t be surprised by the random heavy door in the basement. That’s the Miklat—a bomb shelter that, for years, doubled as a storage cave, Pesach pantry, or even a forgotten junk room.
But lately? Everyone’s asking about them—because now, they really matter.
🏗️ Thinking renovations or layout changes? The Miklat’s legal status and condition can seriously impact your plans. Some are shared, some private, and some off-limits altogether.
✅ Be smart. Ask the right questions.

4 Smart Investment Tips for Olim and Young Professionals:
1. Start with your goals, not the markets: Instead of asking yourself - "how should I invest this sum of money?", first clarify your life goals - buying a home, early retirement, funding education, or financial independence. A clear goal helps shape your investment timeline and risk level.
2. Diversify across geographies and asset classes: Israel’s markets are small and concentrated. Even if you earn in shekels, your portfolio should likely include U.S. and global exposure to reduce risk and position your savings for growth.
3. Use tax-efficient investment vehicles: Maximize Israeli tax-advantaged accounts like a keren hishtalmut fund. U.S. citizens should avoid PFICs and understand cross-border tax implications of managing money in multiple jurisdictions.
4. Revisit your strategy regularly: As your life evolves - career changes, family, work - your investment plan should too. A yearly review helps keep your strategy aligned with your goals.
